What My Nonna Taught Me About Business
Built for Connection, Community & Collaboration

Hi
Wow, time seems to be flying by, and it's been a month since I launched my website AlfonsoSalemi.com. Thank you to everyone who took the time to send a text or email or share their thoughts on social media, it really means a lot.
And stay tuned there is a lot more coming.
I don't know about you, but I am done with all this snow and ice - has this been your reality for the last few weeks too?
I can’t wait to get back on the outdoor tennis court and get some much-needed sunshine.
What are you most looking forward to this spring?
Until next month, make it a great day!
Alfonso
The Value of a Great Emcee (MC)

When planning an event, one often overlooked yet vital role is that of the emcee (master of ceremonies).
The emcee (MC) acts as the thread that holds the event together, ensuring a seamless flow while keeping the audience engaged and energized.
Whether you’re organizing a corporate conference, networking event, or gala, a skilled emcee can be the game-changer for your event’s success.
An emcee is typically the first person to address the audience, establishing the event’s energy and atmosphere. Their professionalism and charisma set the mood, encouraging participation and enthusiasm from the get-go.
Where’s Alfonso?
A couple of weeks ago I spent some time down in the US.
No, I wasn’t part of the stop-the-tariff delegation! I am working with some partners on US real estate investing opportunities and am excited about this project in the future.
I learned from my time there that investing in the US real estate market is a great idea right now due to its affordable property prices, strong rental demand, and steady appreciation, making it attractive in terms of cash flow and long-term growth.
With a lower cost of living, a diverse economy, and landlord-friendly laws, it offers excellent opportunities for investors seeking stable and profitable returns.

I Was Thinking……
Now I am sure you know we Italians love our food! My Nonna Maria (Grandmother) always uses every part of whatever she is making, even the cut-offs from pasta were created into another meal, turning these odd-shaped pieces into delicious soups or rustic dishes like maltagliati (“badly cut” pasta).
It got me thinking that just because something isn’t "perfect" doesn’t mean it isn’t valuable. Whether it’s an unused skill, an underperforming product, or leftover resources, there’s always a way to repurpose and create something useful.
Look at your business—what are you overlooking? A service that could be repositioned? A past project that could be revived?
Success often comes not from starting fresh but from making the most of what you already have.
