Golden Eggs & Growth – Lessons from an Egg Hunt

Built for Connection, Community & Collaboration

Hi,

This Easter looked a little different—but honestly, it may have been the most memorable one yet.

With unpredictable spring weather (and two energetic kids who couldn’t wait any longer), we moved our Easter egg hunt inside the house. Suddenly, every couch cushion, toy bin, and laundry basket became fair game. The excitement was unreal—our living room transformed into a mini adventure zone. The kids were darting around, giggling, and finding surprises behind curtains and under the dining table.

One of my favourite moments? Watching them team up—my oldest pointing out hiding spots, and the little one proudly “finding” them like a tiny superhero with a basket.

As chaotic as it was, it reminded me of something important in business:  Sometimes, the best opportunities aren’t “out there”—they’re right in front of us, hidden in plain sight.

It’s easy to get caught up chasing the next big deal, expansion, or client. But this Easter reminded me that growth can also come from getting creative with what we already have—leveraging our connections and our mindset. Whether it’s nurturing an existing relationship, revisiting a past lead, or simply showing up more intentionally, the “golden eggs” we’re looking for might be right under our noses.

And just like with my kids, finding those wins is even sweeter when you get to share them with the people who matter most.

Until next month,

Alfonso

6 Steps to Creating Memorable Networking Experiences

In today’s fast-paced, digitally driven world, true connection often feels like a fleeting experience.

As an event planner, your role in fostering these connections has never been more crucial. Beyond orchestrating flawless logistics, your ability to create memorable networking experiences can leave a lasting impact on attendees.

To help you elevate your events, here are some creative approaches to designing networking sessions that go beyond surface-level interactions.

Where’s Alfonso?

Just returned from an unforgettable trip to California, where I had the honour of speaking at the Q2 Surge U Symposium.

The energy was electric—over 400 entrepreneurs and business leaders fully engaged, connecting, and exchanging powerful ideas. I had the privilege of sharing my thoughts on building meaningful relationships in real estate and business, and how showing up with intention can change the game. Honestly, the conversations afterward were just as impactful as the talk itself.

And yes... I squeezed in a bit of sightseeing too. Took a tour of Paramount Studios in Hollywood—home to many iconic scenes from The Godfather I & II. Seeing the actual Oscars they won in 1973 and 1975, as well as walking through the sets where film history was made? Unreal. (They’re still filming current hits too, but let’s be real—I was there for Don Corleone's office.)

Soaked in the Cali sunshine, and left feeling inspired, and came home recharged!

I Was Thinking……

Easter in Italian tradition is more than a religious celebration, it’s a time for family, food, and connection.

The table becomes the heart of the gathering, where generations come together over homemade lasagna and roasted lamb. These moments aren’t just about sharing a meal; they’re about reaffirming relationships, telling stories, and building trust.

The same principles apply in business.

Some of the most meaningful connections don’t happen in boardrooms, they happen over meals, where conversation flows more freely and people show up as themselves.

Like an Italian Easter lunch, the best business relationships are built slowly, with warmth, respect, and a genuine interest in others.

Whether it's sitting down for an espresso with a colleague or hosting a dinner, food has a way of breaking down walls.

It reminds us that behind every title is a person with stories, values, and a desire to belong.

That’s where real collaboration begins.
